National Honey Bee Day is today! Out of five spring hives, only three are still active. Honey bees are fascinating creatures. There was no rhyme or reason as to why they vacated the other two hives in town. Literally just up and left - didn’t necessarily die. After a hive check, there is plenty of brood (a.k.a. babies) but not much honey! Will check again in September.
